Anna Silk is a Fredericton resident, and is the daughter of Peter Silk, who was an academic. The mother of her, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of abilities, which included the ability to direct, act production, create plays, teach, and be Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, the daughter of the couple Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" that is originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of plays as a child and watching her mom at work. While still a small child, she was featured in commercials of various kinds. Then, in November 1999 Anna relocated to Toronto to advance her acting career, eventually shifting into Los Angeles, California, within the next decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she met at an Los Angeles actors' workshop at the end of 2007, became her partner in the year 2009. Anna was converted to Judaism in January 2011 and they renewed their vows during an Jewish wedding ceremony in Fredericton. Bo's similar-sex romance with Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was noted on CNN's list of the top favorite Television Couples and was named the top Television Couple of the year 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's fame on social media was boosted by Anna's show.
