Rubi Rose Benton was born on 2 October 1997 in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was also raised, by Nardos Ghebrelul her mother who was who is an Eritrean immigrant dentist who was raised in Ethiopia and John Benton, her father, who is an attorney of Japanese, African American and European descent. [1] Her father was adopted. Scarlette, her older sister, and Coral her younger sister, are also adopted. When she was a young girl she was baptized an Orthodox Christian. Better sources are needed. resided in Geneva, Switzerland for one year. After her junior year of high school, she relocated to Atlanta. Brookwood High School, Snellville, Georgia was where she was a track athlete. She studied political sciences at Georgia State University. She was awed by Marvin Gaye's music and music of Biggie, Prince, Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan. She is influenced by Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Foxy Brown. Rose was first noticed as the lead actress in Migos music videos for "Bad and Boujee" that was a hip-hop band. In the year following she began to appear regularly on a Twitch stream with Jamaican born East Coast Hip Hop Commentator DJ Akademiks. Rose began her musical career in September of 2018, when she remixed "On Top" the hit song from Playboi Cari. Her single "Big Mouth" became a big hit in the beginning of 2019, and she continued to do very well in the year 2019. Rose was featured in Cardi B's music video for her track "WAP" on August 7, 2020. A&R Chris Turner signed her to LA Reid’s record label Hitco Entertainment in 2019. Rubi is also well known for her high profile relationships. She has had relationships with some of the most famous names like Playboi Carti Travis Scott, Ian Connor, 21 Savage, Soulja Boy, Lil Yachty, Takeoff, Lil Tjay and DDG. She is currently not dating.
